Sayra has two television pilots in development. She is the co-founder of The Playground, a creative studio launched in collaboration with Javier Molina, Artistic Director of The Actors Studio. She served as Artistic Director of The Collective NY in 2018, and from 2012–2019, led development, curated weekly workshops, and produced multiple projects including four theatrical productions, two short films, and the workshop process for Inside Amy Schumer, in which she also had a recurring role.

An accomplished writer, Sayra has three published plays and extensive downtown theater credits. She trained internationally with the Workcenter of Jerzy Grotowski in Italy and Poland. She produced and starred in Hurricane Party at the Cherry Lane Theatre, directed by Maria Dizzia. Her short film Uncle Silas—which she wrote, directed, and starred in—won the Jury Prize at the Albuquerque Music & Film Festival.
A lifetime member of The Actors Studio, Sayra has been deeply shaped by her long-standing mentorship with Ellen Burstyn, Estelle Parsons, and the late Elizabeth Kemp, which continues to inspire her commitment to empowering female voices in the arts.
